With more than 35 years of knowledge as an EHS professional in the oil and gas industry, Paul Espenan brings a wealth of experience to his role with Diversified as Senior Vice President of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Regulatory.

In his role at Diversified, Espenan has spearheaded emission quantification, reporting, and reduction,  achieving several industry firsts. Under his leadership, Diversified has established a strategy and implementation plan to significantly reduce methane and GHG emissions intensity, achieving reductions in methane intensity of 25%. Diversified recently won “Best ESG Report of the Year” from ESG Awards 2023.  Diversified has also received notification from the United Nations Environment Program that it has achieved the Gold Standard Pathway for the second consecutive year under the OGMP 2.0 framework.

Prior to Diversified, Espenan held various EHS positions at Halliburton, Burlington Resources, ConocoPhillips, and LINN Energy, also serving as a consultant.

Espenan, a Certified Safety Professional, received a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental health at Louisiana State University and a Master of Science degree in environmental science at the University of Texas at Dallas.
