About the Event
The 2026 Gulf Coast Land Institute (GCLI), presented by AAPL in collaboration with four regional landmen associations, brings energy professionals together for industry-focused education, networking, and opportunities to connect with colleagues across the Gulf Coast.
Co-presented with the Baton Rouge Association of Professional Landmen, Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen, Professional Landmen’s Association of New Orleans, and Mississippi Association of Landmen, the institute features expert-led sessions on legal developments, energy policy, emerging technologies, and other issues affecting land professionals in the region.
AAPL-certified members can earn 12.5 continuing education units (CEUs), including 1 ethics CEU. Energy attorneys can also earn continuing legal education credits for Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Networking and Special Events
Following the educational program on October 14, attendees can continue the conversation at a networking reception, offering an opportunity to build professional relationships in a relaxed setting.
The institute also coincides with the Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen’s 8th Annual Fishing Tournament on October 16. Held on Calcasieu Lake, the tournament extends the opportunity to connect with fellow landmen while enjoying food, drinks, and time outdoors.
