About our media partner:

Southwest Pipe Services is an environmental service company specializing in the mechanical removal of pipe coatings. Our services are performed for a wide range of clients in the oil and gas, petrochemical, and energy industries. We can either perform these services at our facilities either in Alvin, TX or Winfield, KS. Southwest Pipe Services can even mobilize to a client’s job site or facility and perform cleaning services on site. Many of the coatings we remove are classified as regulated waste by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), containing asbestos (ACM) and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs). SWP handles the removal of these coatings as specified by all local, state and federal regulating agencies. If you are responsible for handling these types of material, you know how expensive it can be. SWP helps alleviate, and in most cases eliminate, these costs by purchasing your pipe once cleaned or decontaminated. Our processes can net you a check instead of an invoice. SWP also purchases surplus and used take-up pipe. Service includes pipeline asbestos abatement, pipeline PCB Removal and Disposal, Decommissioning of Pipelines, and Purchasing of Surplus Pipe.

If purchased pipe is used and has been removed from the ground, it goes through our reclamation processes. Pipe is straightened, dents are repaired, and then it is cleaned. Once cleaned, the ends are beveled and short pieces are welded together.
