The 2026 Fall Refining and Equipment (CRE) Standards Meeting will be held in person from Monday, November 9 through Friday, November 13, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The meeting is open to anyone who wishes to participate. See the program schedule for meeting details.

API’s consensus standards program covers more than 800 standards across the oil and natural gas industry, creating opportunities to connect with professionals from a wide range of industry segments. The Committee on Refining Equipment (CRE) is responsible for approximately 220 standards, including many that form the basis of the API Inspection Program.

Program
The Committee on Refinery Equipment (CRE) is responsible for more than 220 standards that form the basis of the API Individual Certification (ICP) and Process Safety Site Assessment (PSSAP) Program.
The technical subcommittees reporting to the CRE include:

- SCCM: Subcommittee on Corrosion and Materials
- SCHTE: Subcommittee on Heat Transfer Equipment
- SCIMI: Subcommittee on Inspection and Mechanical Integrity

- SCPRS: Subcommittee on Pressure-Relieving Systems
- SCRM: Subcommittee on Refractory Materials
- SOEE: Subcommittee on Electrical Equipment
- SOICS: Subcommittee on Instruments and Control Systems
- SOME: Subcommittee on Mechanical Equipment
- TDC: Technical Data Committee – Petroleum Refining
- API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 Fitness-For-Service Joint Committee

API Standards Development Process
In accordance with API’s ANSI-approved Procedures for Standards Development, the standards development process is based on:
Openness
Participation in API standards activities is open to all parties with a direct and material interest in the subject of a standard.
Balance
API seeks broad input from all appropriate interest categories and allows for open attendance at standards meetings.
Consensus
API develops industry standards based on consensus, established when substantial agreement has been reached by directly and materially interested parties who are voting members of the committee or consensus body.
Apply to Participate in API Standards Committees or Task Groups
API Standards Committees include subcommittees and task groups made up of industry experts who develop, approve, and revise API standards and other technical publications. Use the application form to apply to a specific API standards committee.

Deadlines & Cancellation Policy
Sponsor and Exhibitor Cancellation/Refund Deadline: Friday, September 11, 2026.
Payment is due in full at registration. If an invoice is required, payment is due within 30 days of receipt. Full payment for sponsors and exhibitors must be received by API no later than Friday, September 11, 2026.
Sponsors and exhibitors may cancel through Friday, September 11, 2026; however, 50% of the sponsorship or exhibitor fee is nonrefundable. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to registrar@api.org. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after September 11, 2026.
Application Deadline
Friday, October 9, 2026
Sponsors with applications involving items that require design and production, such as bags and lanyards, should submit applications by October 9 to allow sufficient time for production and shipment to New Orleans before the meeting.
Marketing Requirements
After submitting an application, the API Registrar, Aeyesha Farooqui, will contact you to confirm your application, payment method, and the collection process for the following:
- Marketing contact’s full name and email address
- Company logo in EPS or Adobe Illustrator (AI) format
- Company URL
- Company description of no more than 100 words
