About the Conference

The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA) Private Capital Conference brings together energy operators and capital providers to discuss funding strategies, investment opportunities, and the changing financial landscape across the industry.

The conference will explore how operators can identify and approach suitable capital providers, where investment capital is available, and how evolving market conditions and financing requirements are shaping opportunities for companies seeking funding.

Private Capital Conference Chair

Keith Behrens
Managing Director and Head of Energy Investment Banking Group, Stephens Inc.

Keith Behrens joined Stephens in May 2009 as a managing director. Before that, he co-founded and served as a managing partner of Energy Capital Solutions. He brings approximately 30 years of investment banking experience with firms including Bear Stearns and Wasserstein Perella, with a focus on exploration and production companies and other energy-related businesses.

Throughout his career, Behrens has led and executed approximately 230 transactions totaling $53 billion in volume, spanning mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity, and senior and mezzanine debt.

His industry involvement includes more than six years on the board of Enservco Corp. (NYSE MKT: ENSV), service on the Dallas Petroleum Club board, and previous leadership as chair of IPAA’s Private Capital Conference. He has also supported the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business through advisory roles with its Master of Finance Program and Energy Management and Innovation Center. Behrens holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
