SPE General Meeting

Description

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, SPEI has faced a tougher operating environment marked by declining upstream investment, softer event revenues, and a permanent reset in the Society’s financial baseline. While initial projections anticipated a return to pre-pandemic revenue levels, actual performance has stabilized at a lower post-pandemic range, requiring difficult but necessary choices.

This presentation outlines how SPEI is responding—realigning costs, focusing staff time on high-impact programs, reviewing events and membership models, and accelerating new value and revenue streams, including AI-enabled services. The focus is on futureproofing SPEI through a more resilient, member-centric operating model that prioritizes impact, sustainability, and long-term relevance.
