SUMMARY:Register for the SPE Gulf Coast Section Oil and Gas Production Optimization with MATLAB Oct 29, 2024 – Houston, Tx
DESCRIPTION:This Event Reminder is Sponsored by:\n\nDescription\nOil and gas production optimization is at the heart of any successful reservoir management strategy, yet it remains one of the most difficult engineering challenges to tackle. In this presentation, we demonstrate how MATLAB is used for production optimization of multi-well systems while accounting for several key operational constraints. Using inflow performance relationship (IPR) and vertical lift performance (VLP) curves from external simulators, we developed an efficient nonlinear solver to convert production rates from downhole to surface conditions along with a custom optimization cost function to find the set of well head pressures that optimizes production under predefined constraints.\n· Processing IPR and VLP curves following an object-oriented approach.\n· Developing fast n-dimensional interpolation functions to estimate a well operating point.\n· Creating a nonlinear constrained optimization model to find optimal operating wellhead pressure.\nThis event is in collaboration with MathWorks Energy Symposium 2024. For more details and registration for this event, please visit: 2024 MES\nNote: Lunch will be provided during the event.\n
